Have just seen a rider in one, it put her in a completely different position (for the worse), so i sat on it and it did to me too. Any advice/feedback?

I have a barefoot and it puts me in absolutely the CORRECT position. All the treeless saddles I've used have done so can't offer any advice I'm afraid

since some kinds of treeless allow you to move the placement of the stirrup bar, maybe they had it adjusted all wrong?
